The program is designed to bring Korean writing and language into public spaces through exhibitions, educational activities, performances and other cultural events. Details are provided in an official ministry attachment accompanying the announcement.

Hangul Day, observed on October 9, commemorates King Sejong’s creation and proclamation of the Korean alphabet in the 15th century. This year’s anniversary gives the annual language-focused celebration added significance for visitors interested in Korea’s history, design and contemporary cultural identity.
